A Message From Our Former President

“Pick the house where you could walk back into alone without feeling scared or nervous to retrieve a jacket you left behind”. That was the best advice I received during recruitment because it forced me to think about which Greek house made me feel most at home. I found home in Delta Gamma because it was clear each member harbored unconditional love, connection, and joy for one another, allowing each member, no matter what age, to feel like they always had people they considered family. The sisters’ unique bond with one another opened my eyes to the fact that my Greek life experience should be nothing but positive, in a place where I felt valued and respected as a member.

Two years later, DG has continued to give me comfort when I need it most but has also pushed me to grow as a woman and leader in ways I never expected. DG has given me strength in numbers; an army of friends willing to drop everything to be at my side. DG promotes inclusivity and collaboration, promoting the highest ideals of friendships within each sister. DG even values friendships outside of DG, opening its doors to events like Friendsgiving.

But arguably, the reason I love Delta Gamma most, is the fact that the sisterhood extends beyond your college years. The amount of unique internship and job opportunities our alumni have helped collegians get is truly remarkable. The passion and care our alumni still have for the chapter is unmatched. It’s wonderful to know that I will always be a part of Delta Gamma even after I graduate, and I will never feel alone because there will always be a sister nearby.

It’s an amazing state of mind to feel like you belong. Belonging to Delta Gamma means endless encouragement to be your most authentic self. You should never feel like you have to give up a part of yourself to fit into an organization that is created to inspire strong women. So, for the PNMS looking to join a chapter, think about where you feel most comfortable. And know that if you accidentally leave your jacket behind, you will always be welcomed in DG with open arms ❤️"
